My god, they make a fuss about that! A little platoon of ridiculously dressed soldiers (you know the kind with a dead wombat as a hat) marches in, accompanied by a full marching band. They do mysterious things for like an hour (including checking their little guard huts for explosives and hiding suicide bombers) and after that, the guard has changed. What a spectacle! Roads are closed for this, and no matter what weather, it attracts 1000s of camera-wielding tourists. The masses will make sure you don’t get to see much at all. Much ado about nothing, I say!
